From first build to volume
Brief
Lock the spec before anyone cuts metal: materials, target cost, certifications and the volume factories will quote against.
Engineering Validation Test (EVT)
The first working builds. The goal is to prove the design works and find out what breaks.
Design Validation Test (DVT)
Near-final units go through reliability, drop and certification testing. Tooling is finalised.
Production Validation Test (PVT)
A pilot run on the real line, with real fixtures and operators, to check yield and consistency before volume.
Mass Production (MP)
Volume runs with in-line and outgoing quality checks, then packing and shipping.
